Everyone predicted in the build-up to this year’s final major of the year that Atlanta Athletic Club was going to be very hot and it was going to be very tough. It was certainly both of those. The golf course was fantastic, though. You couldn’t ask for a better-manicured course and the set-up was fair. I just didn’t play well enough. There were spells of good play, notably on my first nine holes on Friday morning, but I made too many mistakes and on a demanding golf course mistakes are severely punished.
