It was awesome to play at the weekend after making the cut at the Indo Zambia Bank Zambia Open. I dropped a lot of shots coming down the stretch on Friday, because I was so nervous about the cut. Luckily I still managed to get in and, maybe because of that, I felt no pressure over the weekend.
I was happy with my final round (68). I managed to stay cool, calm and collected, and even though my Saturday wasn't that great, the result was a huge step in the direction. Especially the way I handled myself, just keeping calm.
We don't go out there for the money, but it does feel good to make some and get onto the Order of Merit. It makes me me feel like I belong out here, that I am supposed to be playing on the Tour, and that belief is a huge confidence booster for me.
I'm headed to Big Easy Benoni next, where I'd really like to try to win. Once that's done there is a long break, which I'll use to get fit. I'll be working on a lot of body conditioning and preparing for after the break. We have quite a few tournaments coming up after winter and I need to be ready for them.
While we have some time I'm going to head down to Durban for a week to catch the Durban-July. I'll watch a bit of horse racing and get away from golf for a bit.
