The European Challenge Tour is a great showcase for Branden Grace, Tyrone Ferreira and Michiel Bothma, with all three in the top 50 of the Order of Merit.
The trio have represented South Africa well. Grace is ninth on the Challenge TourÂs Order of Merit and Ferreira is 45th, while Bothma clinched a first place finish at the Barclays Kenya Open.
Grace has distinguished himself by making nine cuts in 13 starts during the 2011 Challenge Tour season.
In the Kenya Open in April Grace snatched a third-place finish, and at the Acaya Open during July he finished second.
A win may still evade Grace, but four top-10 finishes indicate that first place can be expected from him soon.
Ferreira has finished in the money in two of his nine Challenge Tour appearances in 2011, including coming second to Bothma in Kenya.
Currently 608 in the World Rankings, 24-year-old Ferreira has developed his game on the Challenge Tour stage and will aim to use the experience gained on the main European Tour in 2012.
The definite highlight of BothmaÂs 2011 season is his Kenya Open win, although he also made the cut at the English Challenge and the Tuscany Open.
The combination of results has taken Bothma to 22nd on the Order of Merit.
The Challenge Tour has provided a platform for South African golf to develop on the world stage, and Bothma, Grace and Ferreira have used the opportunity to prove their value.
