Ernie goes low; dad in tow

Ernie Els carded a third-round 64 on The Old Course at St. Andrews to take up a share of second at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and his dad, Neel Els, was there to watch it.

The Big Easy paced through the front nine in 30 strokes on his way to an eight-under-par round at the home of golf, which earned him an upward move of 64 spots on the leaderboard.

The South African will head into Sunday two strokes off the pace of American Peter Uihlein, a young sensation who totalled 20-under-par at the close of day three.

Els currently ranks ninth in the Race to Dubai and with a whopping 26 European Tour wins, he certainly knows how to chase down the lead.

With countrymen Hennie Otto and Garth Mulroy looming in a share of ninth on 16-under-par, and with Els hitting his stride, Sunday promises to be a tantalizing finale.
