For the first time in the 2011 season, the Sunshine Tour makes its way to the spectacular Gary Player Country Club course at the Sun City resort for the Nashua Golf Challenge.
The tournament will be held on the prestigious layout which also hosts the annual Nedbank Golf Challenge every December.
2011 marks the fifth edition of the Nashua Golf Challenge with Warren Abery winning in 2007 and Keith Horne claiming the title in 2008.
In 2009, tour veteran Doug McGuigan held on to take the title by two strokes from Tyrone van Aswegen despite recording a one over par 73 in the final round.
Jaco van Zyl took the 2011 title by five strokes from PH McIntyre and Jean Hugo for one of the four victories he achieved in a commanding year on the Sunshine Tour. His success last year has given him the opportunity to campaign on the European Tour, so he wonÂt be back to defend his title this year.
FORMAT: 72 professionals and 60 amateurs make up the pro-am field. The professional competition will be decided over 54 holes of strokeplay. After 36 holes there will be a cut to the leading 40 professionals and those who tie on the score.
