Sunshine Tour partners Titleist launched their new staff and tour bags recently, and they invited all the Titleist brand ambassadors to receive their new equipment at The Els Club Copperleaf on May 22.
The new Titleist Fitment Centre is at Copperleaf and the official opening was on 12 May, so it was a perfect venue for the launch  and it took the form of a pro-am with a bunch of good amateurs joining the Titleist pros.
There were 60 amateurs playing with the pros on the course which was set up from the back tees, and with pin placements as difficult as possible  and the greens were running at 13 on the stimp too.
The amateurs were all single-figure handicappers, and it was an opportunity for the armchair critics of pros who battle their way round tough courses with indifferent scores to get a taste of just how tough it is to play golf professionally.
Northern Cape Classic and Dimension Data Pro-Am champion Oliver Bekker was the best scorer of the day with a two-under-par 70. ÂIt felt like a 65, he said afterwards.
The bags that were launched were the 9.5Â staff bag and the 10.5Â premium staff bag, and players were already using them at the Sun City Challenge at the Lost City Golf Course just two days later.
