Players make their moves as sunshine breaks through in George

After another mist delay earlier this morning, round two of the Dimension Data Pro-Am finally got underway with improved weather – and scoring.

The first groups were scheduled to tee off at 07:30 this morning on The Links and at 08:00 on the Montagu and Outeniqua courses. This happened on The Links, but play was once again halted as thick mist set in once more. However, it only lasted for about an hour before play was underway again, with several players still to complete their first rounds.

And with the weather improving dramatically throughout the morning, the top five players all made their starts on The Links, the toughest of the three courses, with intentions of running away from the chasing pack.

Both Warren Abery and George Coetzee did just that and have reached the turn at seven-under par after beginning the day at three-under and two-under respectively.

However, the clubhouse lead is currently held by local player Branden Grace, who fired a solid five under-par 67 on Montagu today after battling The Links yesterday, eventually recording a level-par round there.

He is currently in a tie for sixth overall but will be looking forward to the next two rounds after having secured his first Sunshine Tour victory here last year at the Coca-Cola Championship hosted by Gary Player.

Omar Sandys is the next best player in the clubhouse on one-under par overall after recording a level-par 72 on Outeniqua, to go with his one-under par round on Montagu yesterday.
