Ranked third at the Big Easy Tour Championship, Jaco Prinsloo is the dark horse in the field at Ebotse Golf Estate this week. He doesn’t pay on the Sunshine Tour, but this year on the Big Easy Tour he’s won once and taken eight top-25s.
The biggest moment of Prinsloo’s career came at Big Easy Kempton Park, where he shot 30 on the front nine during the final round. After signing for 64 he was tied for the lead with Divan Gerber and Attie Schwartzel and a sudden-death playoff on the 18th ensued.
Prinsloo was up to the task and made par on the first extra hole for his maiden win, trumping two of the Big Easy Tour’s strongest competitors.
Only twice this year has the Thabazimbi Golf Club professional missed out on paydays at Big Easy events. With a string of top results and a in to his name, Prinsloo could well take the next step and become the Big Easy Tour champion.
