Stonehage Big Easy 30: Ruan Huysamen

Namibian Ruan Huysamen heads to the Big Easy Tour Championship ranked 17th thanks to a pair of top-five results during the regular season.

 

The 20-year-old rookie hen the pressure is on, and picked up his best result of the season at Big Easy Houghton, a Jack Nicklaus-designed course that proved tougher than any other on the Big Easy roster. Only nine players managed to break par, yet Huysamen carded 70, 71 to tie for second on a three-under total.

 

Huysamen proved himself once again at the difficult East Course of Royal Johannesburg & Kensington. Host of the Joburg Open, East course is a true test of golf. The young gun worked in a final-round 70 to take up sole fourth, securing his place amongst the Big Easy Tour’s top contenders.

 

A further three money finishes through the year have boosted Huysamen up to 17th on the Order of Merit, and his record shows that the tougher it gets, the better he plays.
