Adilson Da Silva weathered the wind and the whirlwind that was Jared Harvey’s charge to win the 2013 Sun City Challenge by one stroke. He carded a two-under-par 70 for his closing round on the Lost City Golf Course to hold off Harvey’s brilliant five-under-par 67, and that gave Da Silva his 12th Sunshine Tour victory.
The Lost City Golf Club, like the original course at Gary Player Country Club at Sun City, is also designed by Gary Player. The impressive par-72 course is located beyond The Palace at the Lost City. The course covers more than 100 hectares with various themes, from desert to mountains and parkland. It incorporates an impressive 28,000m² of water features, with perhaps its most famous feature being the water hazard on the 13th hole, which is home to Nile crocodiles.
