The hole is that way…Jaco Ahlers (left) shows amateur partner Chris Lazarus the way to the hole during Tuesday’s “putt-off” before the Pro-Am for the Vodacom Origins of Golf presented by Samsung at Koro Creek in Limpopo.
Professional Ahlers and Lazarus, who is the Managing Executive for Vodacom in Limpopo, beat Doug McGuigan and his amateur partner, Qiniso Nyathi, by two shots in a competition in which they were required to get the ball into the hole using a putter, a bunker rake and a snooker cue.
During the last part of the competition, where the players used the snooker cue, McGuigan and Nyathi, who is known as “Q”, required a hole-in-one to level the scores.
“This should be easy,” joked McGuigan. “After all, how can we lose when we have a guy named Q (cue) on our team.”
As it was, their three was not good enough to win.
Vodacom make a sizable donation to charities against gender-based violence for the “putt-off”.
