The theme of this yearÂs Vodacom Origins of Golf Series is ÂThe Goose Chase and it honours the contribution to the South African game made by Retief Goosen.
This year, the Vodacom Origins of Golf partners an amateur, a leader in his or her field, with a professional golfer.
The two-day pro-am forms part of a 54-hole professional tournament, which in turn forms part of the Sunshine Tour.
The first two days of the tournament are in the format of a pro-am (two professional golfers and two amateurs). Field size for amateurs will be 60.
Heading to De Zalze Golf Club for the first time, this Origins Tour event has a strong field at a beautiful course. It is the only Origins tournament to be played in the Western Cape.
Last year’s Western Cape event was hosted by Arabella Country Club, where Chris Swanepoel claimed a two-stroke victory. He won the Zimbabwe Open earlier this year and will surely look for another coastal success come the 25th of July.
Professionals will play 54-holes of stroke play with a cut after the second round to the leading 40 and ties.
Pro-am amateurs will play 36 holes of fourball alliance with two scores to count  one score must come from an amateur.
Professional prize fund: R600,000
The professional in each of the leading 10 teams will receive R1000.
